Mr Alex Nagy

HJCC Chess Coach (First-Principles to Intermediate)

Alex Nagy is one of the HJCC's passionate coaches.  He primarily coaches the first-principles to intermediate juniors until they are ready to more advanced material.  Bringing many years of chess knowledge and a friendly smile into the class room, Alex has been popular with the juniors since his started coaching in 2014.

Learning chess in Hungary from his father, Alex has exposed to some serious chess culture; but he admits most of his advancements in the game come from experiences he's had in Australia.  Before moving to Tasmania Alex wandered through mainland Australia (primarily Sydney and Melbourne) playing chess and took part in the organisation of the Latrobe Valley Chess Club, which has since affiliated with with Chess Victoria.
