HICC Spring Swiss - Final Round

Hobart International Chess Club Spring Swiss 2015 - Round 7

 

General Information:

The Spring Swiss is a 7 round Swiss tournament. Suitable for adults and juniors. All players play together at same time limit.

Dates:

The tournament commences on the 12th of October (round 1) and concludes on the 23rd of November (round 7).  Players will play every round unless given or requested a bye.

Start time:

Mondays 6:30pm. All players expected to be present strictly on time or else contact us (contact form below) if they will be late. Games start as soon after 6:30 as we can. 

Finish Time For Parents:

Young juniors who tend to play quickly will often finish their games by 7:30. Games involving stronger juniors who play slowly and carefully may go until 8:00 or (rarely) 8:30.

Time Control:

60 minutes plus 5 seconds/move. ACF Rated. 

Annotation: 

All players are required to record moves until your their time falls below 5 minutes.

Pairings:

Pairings will be made on the night from those present or expected to arrive. If players who have been paired fail to arrive on time, then their clock may be started, or their game may be re-paired or forfeited.

Late entries:

Late entries will be accepted up until the start of play on 26th of October (any later entries at our discretion). Players who enter late will be given half-point byes for the rounds they have missed up to a maximum of two.

Absences:

Each player is allowed up to two half point byes, for any rounds except the final round. Any half point byes assigned for late entry are included in this. Half point byes must be requested in advance. Any other absences will score zero.

The Most Important Rule:

If you cannot attend on a given night, or are going to be late, you or your parent must, mustmust notify us in advance. 

Absent without notification:

Players who don't show up without notice will be suspended from the tournament and not paired again until we have heard from them. Any player who does this more than once is out of the tournament.
