Minutes:
Minutes of meeting 9 June were confirmed.

Finances:
Kevin gave a brief summary. Insurance passed for payment.
General Business:
Tas Junior:
Date changed to 10-11 October. Two day and one day tournaments with lightning on Saturday night.
Membership Protection:
Russell raised the need for a membership protection policy for chess events involving juniors etc whether in the role of player, official or spectator. Policy should especially cover issues related to child abuse, but also bullying etc. Kevin to send Russell links to Victorian club sites with similar policies. Aim to adopt a formal policy at next meeting in late October
Launceston Club:
Tony reported that Launceston club is endangered by lack of critical mass and members having other commitments but moving of night and venue may help the club, especially with the Bretags moving to Launceston for study.
Australian Junior:
Grant received $1000 from HCC, possibility of reception
Russell applying for further volunteers grant, to forward required fields to Kevin.
Website is accepting applications and accommodation bookings. Option of smaller apartment bookings (eg booking half an apartment) to become available. Link to Metro timetables etc on website desirable. Approx 30 entries so far. 100 in registered accommodation will bring $5000 from Events Tasmania.
Approached Wrest Point for sponsorship – not interested.
BBQ at venue on one night of tournament.
Allan Richards will not be available for whole tournament. Laptops to be brought down through Russell – perhaps set up as local network? With dedicated staffer?
