Format:

Two divisions:-

  • Open eligible to players with a rating above 1500 ACF or FIDE.

  • Challengers eligible to players with a rating below 1600 ACF or unrated players.

    *Any player with a rating below 1500 ACF may apply to be considered for the Open division at the organisers' sole discretion. 

The Open five rounds of games with a time control of 60 minutes plus 30 seconds per move from move 1.

Challengers six rounds of games with a time control of 30 minutes plus 30 seconds per move from move 1.

BYES: 1 half point bye except for the last round, pairing generated byes not included.

FIDE RULES: 30 minute forfeit on both tournaments.

Entry fees must be paid online.

Open: $70.00 (FM/WFM/IM/WIM/GM/WGM free entry). Adult and junior.

Challenger (Adult) $50.00 

Challenger (Junior) $30.00

NOTES:

1. Free accommodation/airport pickup and drop off to first 4 players from interstate (3 nights Friday 24 April 2026 to Monday 27 April 2026) with a rating at time of registration of 1850 to 2399 FIDE. First come first serve.

(a) Accommodation will be on a one occupant per room basis in a shared house.
(b) No smoking.

(c) No pets.

(d) No guests.

(e) Code of Conduct applicable to players during tournament play will also apply as reasonable to use of and behaviour at the accommodations. The organisers reserve the right to impose conduct rules as necessary to ensure safe and comfortable residence for each guest.

2. Snacks and tea will be provided during play.

3. FIDE and ACF rated. 

FIDE Laws apply – ringing mobiles will incur automatic loss. Entrants agree to abide by all decisions of the organisers and arbiters. The organisers reserve the right to make any changes required.
