The second annual Tasmanian Rapid Championships were held in Devonport last weekend on the 25th and 26th of July. Players competed for the Bonham Cup, named in honour of the inaugural winner of the event Kevin Bonham. Kevin has since become the only winner of the event, taking the title of Tasmanian Rapid Chess Champion for the second year running.

With such a small field it was a unique occurrence that the top 5 place getters were all outright results. While the top 2 seeds took the top 2 places, some upsets along the way saw David Rolph finish 3rd with Ian Little the best of the rest.
